We’re so happy you’re going to be part of the Falmouth Urine Diversion Eco-Toilet Project!

We’ve got 8 steps you’ll need to take to keep the process moving smoothly.

Remote Assessment

The remote assessment is an initial phone call with a project team member. You will be asked various questions about your home, and you will also be able to ask questions about the project. During this call, the project team member will schedule a date and time for your In-Home Assessment. Most calls last between 30 minutes and an hour.

In-Home Assessment

The In-Home Assessment is an in-person assessment conducted at your home or project site. This visit will include at least one project team member and a plumber. The project team will enter your home to take measurements of your bathroom(s), basement, and potential outdoor locations. The project team member and plumber will walk you through various options for urine storage. The project team member, after the In-Home Assessment, will leave a participant agreement for your review and direct you to materials to begin looking at various fixtures. Assessments will last approximately two hours.

Options Summary & Cost Estimate

After the In-Home Assessment, the project team will create a report containing all information collected. This report will include 2-3 options for your bathroom. Each option will include a cost estimate, permitting timeline, and additional information to support your decision. The report will be sent two weeks after your assessment. The project team will also be available to answer any questions you have as you review the report.

Participant Agreement & Fixture Selection

Once you have decided on an option from the project team’s report and emailed them your selection, you will receive a participant agreement to sign. Once you have signed the agreement, you are officially enrolled in the project.

Design & Permitting

The project team will obtain all the necessary permits for your design. The project team has already obtained permits from DEP and the Plumbing Board for some fixtures. Based on your selected design, this phase could take 2 weeks or several months.

System Installation & Plumbing

Once the permitting has been approved, the project team will begin working with you on installing your system. You will receive a list of parts to order. Please keep detailed records of the parts you purchase for the projects, including all receipts. They will be needed for reimbursement.

Cost Reimbursement

After implementation, each house will submit a reimbursement form.
