We Have Plaques!

It’s always exciting to get the first results from a new experiment. It is particularly satisfying when you have poured your blood, sweat, and tears into a project for over a year with a pandemic raging in the background.

The plates above show plaques of MS-2 phage (“holes in the lawn”) growing in a culture of E. coli as part of our IPR (Initial Precision and Recovery) activities associate with EPA Method 1643. While not reportable data, completion of the IPR puts us one step closer to being ready to run real samples!
